It is important to adopt a holistic approach to helping autistic people better their lives. The following people play/have played an integral part in Josh's life:

 

Penny Sue Jacobsen - HANDLE  Practitioner. HANDLE is an acronym for Holistic Approach to Neuro Development and Learning Efficiency.   

Cathy Stingley - HANDLE  Practitioner.

Provides outreach workshops in the HANDLE approach.

Phoebe Caldwell - Author of "Finding You, Finding Me" and "From Isolation To  Phoebe Caldwell has extensive experience in Intensive Interaction.

Michael Gilbourne - Is an accomplished musician with special expertise in music therapy in all settings, and for all needs. He has a vast array of instruments both conventional and surprising, ranging from simple to hi- tech. He uses his considerable experience and great sensitivity to encourage, motivate and accomplish. Tina Woods -  Occupational Therapist who specialises in sensory integration.  

Jane Remmington Gurney -  Is a Speech and Language Pathologist providing interaction for people with complex communication needs. She employs a total communication strategy which includes speech, gesture, body, language, pointing and social stories. Click here to view her website.

 

Rosemary Crossley- Is the Director of DEAL, a communication centre which provides services to people who are unable to talk, or to talk clearly. She pioneered Facilitated Communication and has worked with Josh on several occasions. Please click here to view website.

 

Marilyn Chadwick - from the Facilitated Communication Institute of Syracuse University is committed to training, research and dissemination of information related to the use of Facilitated Communication. Neil Redford - Person Centered Planning co-coordinator for Salford City Council. Neil is a good friend who has known Josh for many years and champions his cause.

 

Sharon Marsden - Is an autism co-coordinator working for the Salford Support Services.

Linda Scotson - originator of The Scotson Technique. This method of gentle exercise improves respiratory function with benefit to posture, cerebral function, speech and many other modalities.
